Academic Concentrations in Liberal Arts

This program is for students interested in pursuing a "minor" in a non-music field.

BM WITH HOMEWOOD LIBERAL ARTS CONCENTRATION

Peabody students wishing to earn a BM with a liberal arts concentration must complete six courses on the Homewood campus with at least three at the 200 level or higher. At least one of the courses must be an expository writing course or a writing-intensive course.

Language courses at the 100 level at Homewood cannot be used to fulfill the requirements for the liberal arts concentration.

Music courses offered at Homewood cannot be used to fulfill the requirements for the liberal arts concentration.

All students planning a BM with a liberal arts concentration must have their proposed program of study approved by the Chair of the Humanities Department of the Peabody Conservatory of Music.

The following statement will appear on the transcript of any Peabody student who successfully completes a liberal arts concentration:

"Liberal Arts concentration completed on the Homewood campus of the Johns Hopkins University."
