Otis Boise's Chapter on Inverted Triads (1901)
Boise's chapter on inverted triads is very much a product of 19th Century dogmatism; it proceeds on the assumption that the rules of voice leading and doubling can be logically ascertained and communicated as products of harmony. It is presented as a document in the history of Music Theory at the Peabody Conservatory. |

An Article on Gustav Strube's Moonshine
Stube, composer, theorist, director of The Peabody and conductor of the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, made his own liquor during Prohibition. In 2003, a cache of this liquor was found during the renovation of the Peabody's East Hall. |
