Introduction to Music Bibliography


Welcome to the Introduction to Music Bibliography Site at the Peabody Conservatory of Music.  This year four sections of this course will be offered: two sections in the Fall and two sections in the Spring. Classes are taught by Robert Follet, Head Librarian of the Arthur Friedheim Library, and by Dr. Richard Giarusso..  

Time and Place
Section 1: Tues. & Thurs. 9:30-10:20 a.m. (214 Leakin)
Section 2:  Wed. 5 -6:50 p.m.  (214 Leakin)


The goals of Music Bibliography are:

    • To learn about the various information sources in music and to develop the lifelong skills in using  these tools
    • To develop skills in conducting research in the field of music including, developing a topic and thesis statement, producing an annotated bibliography, and developing a research strategy on a research project.
    • To develop skill in writing of program notes.
