Ear Training and Sight Singing


 B.M. (violin, summa cum laude), Temple University; M.A. (theory pedagogy) and D.M.A. (violin), Eastman School of Music. Violin studies with Oleh Krysa, Jonathan Beiler, Mary Ogletree, and Rebecca Brown.  Founding member of Alarm Will Sound new music ensemble and the jazz fusion ensemble, Neos. Additional performances with the Zankel Band, Signal new music ensemble, Sonar new music ensemble, the Peabody Conservatory Avant-Garde Ensemble, the Washington Contemporary Music Forum, and the Rochester Publick Musick.  Performances at Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Miller Theatre, Berkeley's Zellerbach Hall, the Library of Congress, The Knitting Factory, Joe's Pub, the Lincoln Center Festival, Amsterdam's Holland Festival, Boston's Gardner Museum, the Banff Centre, and June in Buffalo. Premieres of works include those by John Adams, Michael Gordon, David Lang, Meredith Monk, Wolfgang Rihm, and Augusta Read Thomas.  Peabody premieres include those by Bruno Amato, Greg Boyle, Mark Lackey, John Crouch, David Smooke, Jenny Beck, and Amy Kirsten. Recent collaborations include those with Theo Bleckmann, Gavin Bryars, Uri Caine, and Ridge Theatre.  Recordings on Chandos, Bridge, Cantaloupe, Tzadik, Suigeneris, and Winter & Winter. Forthcoming recordings on Nonesuch. Former faculty, Eastman and Syracuse University. Member, Pi Kappa Lambda.
