Here are our Writing Consultants!
You can meet with a Writing Consultant on a walk-in basis on Sunday and Wednesday evenings in the Marbury Room. You can arrange a session at another time by contacting a Writing Consultant directly.
The students below (keep scrolling!) have been selected as Writing Consultants not only on the basis of their writing, but because they are friendly, patient, and helpful by nature. Feel free to contact one via e-mail--their e-addresses are below.
Please do not request help from more than one Writing Consultant. And if you make arrangements for a tutoring session, it is important to keep your appointment (or let the Consultant know if you must change it).
If you have questions or concerns, contact Dr. Ron Levy at rlevy@peabody.jhu.edu
Martin Shultz
Please contact Martin by e-mail (mshultz@jhu.edu), which he checks frequently.
Pervinca Rista
Born in Italy, Pervinca is currently studying violin with Shirley Givens at Peabody while also taking exams to earn an Italian violin diploma at the State Conservatory in Italy.
In addition to her BM, Pervinca is pursuing a second degree in Romance Languages and Literatures at the JHU Krieger School of Arts and Sciences in the Romance Language department. She loves traveling and learning new langauges.
She will be happy to help with writing assignments. Send her an email at prista1@peabody.jhu.edu and she will get back to you right away.
Will Hays
Will Hays is in his second year of the BM program studying Composition with Chris Theofanidis. Born just outside of Chattanooga, TN, he focused on writing and history before deciding to study music professionally. When not writing music or words, Will is likely to be doing crosswords or watching old British movies.
If you'd like some advice with one of your writing assignments, Will is free in the evenings during the week; on selected days he will also be available in Marbury Room. Contact him at WilliamEHays@comcast.net and he promises to get back to you within a day.
Chris Whittaker
Chris is a junior composition major at the Peabody. He also studies jazz and classical piano. You can send requests or urgent pleas for help to whittaker.chris "at" gmail.com (you'll need to change the "at" to @!). Try to give him a few days' notice... unless you can get him a little something extra under the table. Perishable food items, coffee beans and small gifts of a non-personal nature are all acceptable. Happy writing.
Iain Roush
Iain is a senior in the Guitar Performance Bachelor's Degree program. He is a student of Julian Gray. He is originally from Huntington, West Virginia and attended high school for three years in Hockessin, Delaware. Iain is interested in film, literature, philosophy and Icelandic popular music. He is completely happy and willing to assist with any writing assignment, and is free mostly during the week and often on the weekends. Send him an e-mail at iroush1@Jhmi.edu and he will respond as soon as possible.
