If your undergraduate program included four years of private lessons--culminating in a senior recital--and if you were a leader in performing groups, there is a good chance you will be accepted to Peabody.  This does not mean that Peabody is particularly "easy" to get into on orchestral instruments.  Instead, it is a reflection of our efforts (like this web site) to help people identify themeslves as good candidates before sending in an application.   In general our efforts have been successful.  On average, we accept about 60% of those who complete the audition process. As you would expect, though, the figure is different for each instrument, dropping below 20% for flute.
