Citing Music Sources

RefWorks is an online personal database and bibliography creator that enables you to

  • Organize your research
  • Include citations while you write your paper
  • Build a bibliography in a variety of formats
  • Import references from many data sources
  • Create bibliographies in different document formats (Word, RTF, HTML, etc.)

It's Web-based so there's no software to download, and you can access your personal account from any computer connected to the Internet.

And it's FREE to all JHU students, faculty and staff!

The group code for remote access is rwjhmi.

Lisa Philpott's updated "Citing Music Turabian-Style" shows how Turabian can be adapted for music materials.  There are examples of footnotes/endnotes and bibliographical entries, guidance to spelling out notes, keys and chords, and more.
