JULIE BOSWORTH EM MM1
Soprano Julie Bosworth hails from St. Louis, Missouri, and is just beginning her first year of graduate studies at The Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore. She graduated this past May from Millikin University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education, and with the distinguished honor of Summa Cum Laude. While at Millikin, Julie performed with the internationally acclaimed University Choir, Tudor Voices early music ensemble and Millikin Opera Theatre. Her favorite roles at Millikin included “Blanche de la Force” (Dialogues of the Carmelites), “Konstanze” (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), “Ginevra” (Ariodante), “Rosalinda” (Die Fledermaus) and the title role in Seymour Barab’s Little Red Riding Hood. Ending her undergraduate career, Julie was presented the Mary B. Merris Award, which Millikin bestows to an outstanding voice student each year. Julie has a keen interest in music of the Renaissance and Baroque eras, and has consequently (and enthusiastically) taken part in several Early Music Festivals. She has performed at the New Brunswick Early Music Festival in St. Andrew’s, N.B., Canada for the past two years with roles in two of Purcell’s operas, Dido and Aeneas (“Belinda”) and The Fairy Queen. This summer, she sang “Filia” in Carissimi’s Jephte with the Seasons Baroque Ensemble at the Fredericton Baroque Music Festival, also in N.B., Canada. Julie looks forward to starting the Master of Music program at Peabody and to studying with Ah Hong!
