Enrollment and Placement (Pre-Registration)

To ensure a place in class, new and continuing students planning to enroll in the 2006-2007 Fall/Spring season must contact the Peabody Dance Office at (410) 659-8100, ext. 1125, to receive detailed information about the artistic program and placement prior to official registration through the Peabody Preparatory Office.

Peabody Dance requires a placement session for ALL new students with previous training in order to ascertain the student's proper class level in a particular program.  Placement sessions for Spring 2007 may be arranged on an individual basis by calling the Peabody Dance Office at (410) 659-8100, ext. 1125, to arrange a convenient time. Children ages 4-6 will enter the Young Children's Program  and do need  to attend a placement session, regardless of whether they have prior training.

All current students of Peabody Dance will be advised of their placement for the 2006-2007 Fall/Spring season by the faculty and do not need to attend the placement session. Generally, students continue in their level for the entire 32-week season; faculty will inform students and parents on an individual basis if a change in level or class schedule is appropriate. Continuing students must register with the Peabody Preparatory Office according to the Preparatory Calendar.

Registration Guidelines

The Regular Session occurs over a 32-week period consisting of two 16-week semesters: Fall and Spring. Summer Session may have courses ranging from two to six weeks. Students registering in the fall must pay for the Fall semeseter at the time of registration and will be automatically billed for the Spring semester. Students registering for just the Spring semester must pay at the time of registration. A payment plan is available; please contact the Peabody Preparatory Registrar for more information at (410) 659-8100, ext. 4000. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. New and continuing students should register early to ensure that they have a place in class.

Registration for Peabody Summer Dance requires a separate registration process which is detailed in the Summer 2007 catalog.

Questions about tuition remission for Johns Hopkins University employees or cross-registration for Peabody Conservatory students should be directed to the Peabody Preparatory Registrar at (410) 659-8100, ext. 4000. These benefits do not apply to the Peabody Dance Saturday Guest Teacher Series/Day of Master Classes, although current Peabody Dance students do receive the group rate for these events.
