Below are listed some upcoming regional competitions. Please check the dates with your calendars and let your teacher know if you are interested in any of these so that you both can plan accordingly. We will post this year's dates and deadlines as we receive them for each organization.  You may want to check each organization's web sites for updated information as well.

Performance in Strathmore November

High School Student, all orchestral instruments (no piano)

One movement of a concerto or piece with orchestra.  10 min. max.

Asian American Music Society 2011 International Competition

Grades 1-12

Deadline  Oct. 8,     Competition  Sat. Oct. 22, 2011  in Bethesda, MD

Winners Concert in November at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage.

Elementary, Middle School and High School Divisions.

Two contrasting pieces.  Asian musicians encouraged/not required. Anyone can enter.

Friday Morning Music Club Gus Johansen Competition 

Sat. Nov. 5, 9-3 in Washington DC      Deadline: Oct. 27

Prizes:  1st: $700, 2nd: $500, 3rd: $300

Winning performance:  Friday Nov. 25, 2011.

Grades 9-12     Repertoire:  3 works from different periods
