Keeping in Touch/Class Cancellation
ATTENTION PARENTS:
If you have a son or daughter participating in any performance and have a conflict with a schedule rehearsal please email dance@peabody.jhu.edu as soon possible.
Keeping in Touch
Email/Phone Trees are distributed every semester for each class and are Peabody Dance's resource for communicating any of the following:
-
Class cancellations due to inclement weather
-
Studio presentations and performances
-
Receptions, refreshment contributions, etc.
Please note that email is our primary method of communication. Announcements will also be posted online. The information on the Email/Phone Trees is taken from ISIS, so please be sure your information is accurate in ISIS, and please notify dance@peabody.jhu.edu with any contact information changes. Peabody Dance is responsible to communicate to account holders (parents); therefore, student email addresses or phone numbers cannot be used for the Email/Phone Trees.
Visit www.peabody.jhu.edu/dance regularly for the most up-to-date information on the following:
-
Class schedules
-
Summer programs
-
Dress code
-
Master Classes and other Peabody Dance events
-
Rehearsal and performance schedules
Due to Inclement Weather:
Peabody Dance follows the Peabody Preparatory class cancellation policy due to inclement weather. Please note that classes are not necessarily canceled when academic schools are closed. Since most dance classes are scheduled during the late afternoon and evening hours on weekdays, inclement weather in the morning may not indicate that classes will be canceled. Please check the Johns Hopkins University Weather/Emergency Information page to find out if Peabody Preparatory classes have been canceled. You may also call the JHU Weather Hotline at 410-516-7781 or 800-548-9004. In the event that classes are canceled, instructors will contact class parents and messages will be passed through the class Email/Phone Trees. Once classes resume, make-up sessions will be scheduled, most often during the Peabody Preparatory make-up week. Make-up sessions can also be scheduled during Peabody Preparatory breaks or at other times as determined by the Artistic Director and the instructors.
