RECITAL, CHAMBER MUSIC, AND ENSEMBLE RECORDINGS

All degree recitals (except junior recitals), all Peabody performances published in the yearly Concert Calendar, all Thursday Noon performances,  and all Peabody Preparatory senior and ensemble performances are automatically recorded (it is not necessary to call Recording Studios to confirm).

 

All degree recitals (except junior recitals) are recorded for free without recording or hall charges.

 

Students may obtain a free copy of their degree recitals from the Audio Visual section of the music library.

 

Students may obtain additional copies of their recitals and other public performances by placing an audio duplication request on-line.

 

Students who wish to have their non-degree or junior recital recorded by the Peabody Recording Studios are required to pre-pay a flat fee of $50.00.  A fee for non-degree recitals that are OVER 60 minutes long will be determined by the Recording Studio Manager. To schedule a non-degree recital recording please contact Ed Tetreault at 410-659-8100 x1230.

 

Conductors and Soloists of a large ensemble may obtain a free copy of their performances by placing an audio duplication request on-line, indicating whether they were a conductor or a soloist in the performance.

AUDIO DUPLICATION REQUESTS

Audio duplication fees include materials and services.

 

Editing is not included in the price (performers who require editing will be charged $50/hr).

 

High-volume duplications (additional copies of the same performance) are available.

 

Duplications will be completed within 10 working days.

 

Rush duplications (within three working days) will include an additional 25% of the cost.

 

Shipping is available for an additional cost (indicated in the table below).

 

Pre-payment is required prior to the order being processed.

 

All work and materials are warranted for thirty days, replacement only.

RECORDING SESSION REQUESTS

Recording Session bookings require a 2-week notice.

 

A Recording Session Request Form needs to be filled out prior to the scheduled session (download the form from the Recording Arts web site).

 

Hourly rates do not include material cost.

 

A one (1) hour minimum booking is required. 

 

A 50% deposit is required and is non-refundable for the sessions cancelled with less than 24-hour notice.

 

Rates include the use of the recording studio and a student engineer (studio manager's rates are double).

 

A $50 flat fee does not apply to non-degree recitals that are over 60 minutes long.

 

Students who prefer to record in one of the halls must pay a hall rental fee, in addition to a recording fee.

 

Students recording with organ, two pianos, or ensembles too large for the recording studio may record in a hall without paying a hall rental fee.

USE OF PERFORMANCE HALLS FOR PERSONAL RECORDINGS AND SESSION

The use of personal recording equipment in Friedberg Concert Hall, Griswold Hall, Goodwin Recital Hall, East Hall, and Cohen-Davison Theatre is allowed only under the following circumstances:

 

Recording for personal practice and review during the 2 hour allotted rehearsal time for a degree recital.

 

Recording for personal practice and review during the 1 hour allotted rehearsal time for a non-degree recital.

 

Recording for personal practice and review during a faculty-supervised repertoire class or master class.

 

Recording for personal practice and review during a faculty-supervised rehearsal for departmental recitals or concerts.

 

Recording for personal practice and review during the time slot given to contestants participating in a Peabody competition.

 

Please be advised that with the exception of the examples stated above, professional level recordings in the above mentioned performance halls require the approval of the Peabody Recording Studios.  In addition, the Recording Studios reserve all rights to provide its own student engineers for assistance in these sessions.
