Laura Garvin

Suzuki Piano, Enrichment, Traditional Piano

BA Music Education and MA Performance New Jersey City University. Garvin studied piano with Lorrie Glaze at the Manhattan School of Music and completed postgraduate work at the Juilliard School and Manhattan School of Music. She studied piano pedagogy with Frances Clark at the Westminster Choir College. She received early childhood music training at the University of Delaware and Suzuki training at the Greater Washington Suzuki Institute and with Barbara Rosenberger at the Peabody Preparatory. Garvin has also completed Dalcroze training through the University of Maryland and Orff training at George Mason University, and has taken part in the Voice Care Network at St. John’s University Minnesota. She completed her AMS Certification and has been a faculty member of the Maryland Montessori Teacher Training Institute. She is currently a high school accompanist, choral coach, and early childhood faculty member at the McDonough School, and serves as the assistant organist at the Second Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.
