Upcoming Events for Phyllis Bryn-Julson

Ms. Bryn-Julson has co-authored a book titled "Inside Pierrot Lunaire", with theory professor Dr. Paul Mathews. It has been published by Scarecrow Press and available since January 2009. In a review for Journal of Singing, September/October 2009, Debra Greschner states "...Inside Pierrot Lunaire offers a wealth of insight into this landmark twentieth century work in a clear and organized manner. It is highly recommended, not just for those who perform Pierrot Lunaire , but anyone interested in the monumental composition.

Just released on CD is her performance of Gurrelieder at the New England Conservatory in Boston, with Gunther Schuller conducting.

Ms. Bryn-Julson was the recipient of the Laurel Leaf award from the American Composers Society and will receive this reward in June of 2009 in New York.

In September, she was the guest speaker on "The Aging Voice" for the Maryland Archdiocese, with over 40 choral conductors in attendance.

October, 2009, Ms. Bryn-Julson will be giving master classes at the Academy of the Arts in St. Petersburg, Russia.

In 2010, she gave workshops in Baltimore, as well as at the National Convention of the American Guild of Organists on Voice/Organ music in Washington, D.C. In the fall of 2010, she will be one of the judges for the Spirituals Competition in at the Salisbury University in Maryland.
