SCSR consists of 2 undergraduate students, 2 graduate students, 2 staff members, and 2 faculty members.  The staff members are appointed by the Dean of the Conservatory, and the Faculty members are the Vice-Chair and Secretary of the Faculty Assembly.  Students are elected by OASIS, the student population's representation.

Britt Olsen-Ecker spent her summer as the singing waitress at the Riverside Yacht Club in Riverside, Connecticut. However, she was not hired as a singing waitress and was quickly silenced due to “decorum rules,” as her boss said. This didn’t stop her- she had sung enough to earn such nicknames as “opera girl” and “that girl who sings, I don’t remember her name.” She even redeemed herself for completely butchering an order once by singing “O mio babbino caro.” She is currently a sophomore in the studio of Steven Rainbolt and is in the Peabody Singers. In her free time, she likes to take pictures with her Polaroid camera, nap when she should be practicing, and listen to non-classical music.

Ian Sims is a double degree student majoring in jazz saxophone and electrical engineering.

Graduate Representatives

Ben Beirs is an accomplished soloist and chamber musician who has been studying guitar since the age of six. In 2001, he began studying with Julian Gray, and in 2002 formally began his Bachelor's of Music degree in guitar at Peabody. He is now in his last year in that program, as well as his first year of a Master's degree in guitar performance as part of a 5-year B.M./M.M. program.

Chih-Jung Hsu was born in Taiwan and began her studies of violin at age seven. In her native Taiwan, she won several prizes and competitions including the National Violin competitions, and the Young Artists Scholarship competitions. Ms. Hsu performed as a soloist with the Morcone Music Festival in Italy in 1997, the Aspen Music Festival in US in 2000, and the Pablo Casals Festival in France in 2004. With the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra, Ms. Hsu has performed in major concert halls in Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Germany, and Luxembourg. Ms. Hsu is currently a first year of Dcotor of Musical Arts program at Peabody, where she studies violin with Victor Danchenko and Martin Beaver.
