Technique Intensive and Choreography Workshop

Peabody Dance proudly announces its groundbreaking dual program, consisting of the fifth year pre-season refresher Technique Intensive (Course I) followed by the second year of the Choreography Workshop (Course II). Renowned guest artists Rafael Grigorian, Alan Hineline, and N. Scott Robinson once again join the outstanding Peabody Dance staff and faculty.

 

Technique Intensive (Course I)

Monday-Friday, 9:00 am - 12:00 noon; ten weekday mornings
Open to serious intermediate and advanced students ages 11 and up

The daily morning schedule consists of two classes; a first class in Ballet, and a second class in Pointe or Variations and/or Partnering (by invitation). The Intensive will broaded its curriculum to include Contemporary Dance in the second class slot for students who choose greater exposure to that discipline.

All students entering Course I must complete a placement class to determine their level. For further details about placement, please see our special website for this innovative program. 

 

Choreography Workshop (Course II)

Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm,  Saturdays 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
For a limited number of selected, well-tuned and responsive professional aspirants (ages 14 through college) who have an eye for choreography and are eager to collaborate with choreographers

The full schedule - including the morning Technique Intensive - adds afternoon classes in composition, theater arts workshops, music for dancers, various seminars, and, most importantly, the actual setting of dance studies with choreographer mentors, which culminate in showcases of works in progress.

Course II is selective and limited in class size. All students must complete the special application/selection process outlined in our special website for this innovative program.
