Before getting started
Here are a few notes for perspective before reading about our graduate programs. We are hoping to give you a general idea of what kind of background is associated with those who are successful. This is not easy to do, so we ask that you keep three things in mind:
- This information is generally consistent with official school documents, but much of what I will tell you is just a result of my own observations over the years.
- I have included some statistics on the percent of our applicants who are accepted (also known as the "acceptance rate"). If these numbers seem high compared to other schools it is because we tend to attract successful applicants.
- In sharing this information with you, I don't want to risk discouraging qualified people who may not exactly match up with the descriptions. So, if there is a little doubt in your mind about your qualifications, or if you feel that you are a special case, I urge you to go ahead and request (or download) an information package.
