Adjunct Voice Faculty, Peabody Conservatory; Chair, Peabody Preparatory Voice Department. Master of Music in Voice, Mannes College of Music. Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Tulane University.  President, National Association of Teachers of Singing, Maryland/DC State Chapter.

A coloratura soprano who sang leading roles (Die Fledermaus, The Magic Flute, Ariadne auf Naxos, Un Ballo in Maschera, Rigoletto, Merry Wives of Windsor, Albert Herring, and more) with Zurich Opera, Staatsoper Prague, Vienna Kammeroper, Koblenz Opera, L'Opera Francais, Mannes Camerata; solo appearances with the Sudwestdeutsche Symphonie, Neue Musik Orchester Basel, Rheinische Philharmonie, Pittsburgh Concert Society, Baltimore Composers Forum; 2006 and 2002 Winner, Individual Artist Award for Solo Voice from the Maryland State Arts Council; winner Friday Music Club Young Artists Competition, Pittsburgh Concert Society Auditions; finalist in numerous international competitions including the Belvedere, Jenny Lind, Palm Beach Opera, etc.; worked with Nello Santi, Ralf Weikert, Dietfried Bernet, Judith Blegen, Hakan Hagegard.

Her students have been accepted to the top Conservatories including Juilliard, Manhattan School of Music, Peabody, New England Conservatory, Oberlin, Mannes, USC Thornton School of Music, NYU, Temple University, many with scholarships; they have also won numerous voice competitions including 1st place at both the State and Regional NATS Auditions. Ms. Catbas is also Co-Owner of Baltimore Ballet School.  She has been interviewed on WJZ-TV CBS Baltimore, WMAR (ABC), CNN Headline News Comcast Local Edition, and Comcast Newsmakers.
