Devonna Rowe
Devonna B. Rowe is at home as a performer in major concert halls as a recitalist, in operatic performances or in the performance halls of schools across the country that request her talents as an artist and educator. She has a B.A. degree in Music Education from St. Augustine College and a M.M. degree in Vocal Performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her teachers include Mario Salerno, Nico Castel, Marrguerite Meyerowitz, Todd Duncan, George Shirley, Martha Flowers and Adele Addison. Devonna’s performances and studies have taken her throughout the United States, Europe, Japan and Russia. She has been a student as well as a Voice Teacher with the Aspen Music Festival. Additional studies and performances in Opera have been with the AIMS Program in Graz, Austria. As an artist with the Maryland State Arts Council and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Devonna presents workshops in Arts Education for teachers and students. The founder and creator of her own company, DBR Arts-In-Education, she has been a guest speaker and presenter at the National Dropout Prevention Conference and The National Association for Multicultural Education Conference. A member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Devonna is also on the Voice faculty of Peabody Preparatory. Her voice students are accepted by major Colleges, Universities and Opera Companies.
