Commissions and performances by leading orchestras, ensembles and soloists throughout North America, Europe, and the Far East, including Pacific Symphony, Utah Symphony, Minnesota Orchestra, Aspen Music Festival, New York Philharmonic, St. Louis Symphony, Marin Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Cincinnati Symphony, Verdehr Trio, Institute for American Music, American Composers Orchestra/BMI Foundation. Awards include the Benjamin H. Danks Award for Excellence in Composition from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Guggenheim Fellowship, Rome Prize, and the Barlow International Prize for Orchestral Music. Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival's American Composer-in- Residence for summer 2007; Young Concert Artists' Composer-in-Residence from 1996-1998; Composer-in-Residence for the California Symphony from 1996- 1999.
