Kris Faatz

Kris Faatz received dual Bachelor’s degrees in music and engineering from Swarthmore College and a Master’s degree in piano performance and pedagogy from the Peabody Conservatory, where she studied with Brian Ganz.  During her studies at Peabody, she served as an accompanist and performer with the choral, opera, instrumental and composition departments, and received a Dean's Grant and the Pauline Favin Memorial Award for piano performance.

In addition to her work with Exploritas, Ms. Faatz is an active studio teacher, and with two colleagues has founded a music school for private study in Bel Air, MD.  She also teaches music classes for the Highlands School, a special-education institute.  Ms. Faatz is currently pursuing a Master's degree in fiction writing at the Johns Hopkins University and is working on her first novel.
