The Friedheim Library offers Streaming audio from two commercial sources.

The Naxos Music Library includes over 16,000 CDs with over 240,000 tracks.  An additional 500 CDs are added earch month.  The Naxos Music Library offers not only practically all standard repertoire, but also a wide range of special repertoire not available from other online sources.  On campus access is through the website http://jhu.naxosmusiclibrary.com

Classical Music Library is a fully searchable classical music resource--a comprehensive database of distiguised classical recordings.  It includes "ten of thousands of licensed recordings that users can listen to on the Internet.  The audio selections are cross-references to a database of supplementary reference information". The database is periodically updated with additional recordings.  Some selections are abailable for downloading for asmall fee.  On campus access is at http://jhu.classical.com

Remote Access to both sources is available to authorized Hopkins library users through the site http://hermes.mse.jhu.edu.  Once on this site, enter the name of the audio database you wish to use.  You will then be asked for you JHED ID and password.  There is no need to download additional software.
