How to Audition

Auditions will be held on December 3rd, 2007 at 7pm. The repertoire for this audition will be Strauss, Don Juan, 1st page; Mendelssohn, "Scherzo" from Mid- Summer Night's Dream, 1st page; and Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6, mm 19-79.

The class is for credit. There are six possible spots available which will be determined by audition.

Grading will be done according to preparedness, successfulness at mock auditions, and attitude. Absences must be cleared with advance notice. Unexcused absences will result in a lower grade. If standards are not being met, the student will get one warning. The second time that a student is not prepared, they will receive a failing grade and be excused from the class.

Classes will be held on the dates listed. All classes will be from 1-2pm on these days. You must be present and ready to go at 5 minutes before 1pm so that we can start precisely at 1pm.

Each student is required to bring a music stand to class.

Auditors of this course are encouraged to come. In fact the changing landscape of people in the classroom will increase the intensity of the seminar and more successfully create an audition atmosphere.
