Winter Holiday Open House
Dear Peabody Dance Parents,
May I take a moment of your time to greet you and inform you about our Winter Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 15th at our Downtown studios. Since many of you with young children have not met me, this letter is also a welcome opportunity to introduce myself. I am Artistic Director of Peabody Dance and have directed the dance program for 19 years. I teach Contemporary Dance to students ages 9 and up who are mostly enrolled in our Pre-Professional Program, and also direct and choreograph for our annual performances.
I want to emphasize the importance of your attendance on December 15th as this event serves many purposes. It provides an opportunity for your children to dance for you in a festive setting, and to watch students of all levels perform, so that you will gain deeper insight into our training programs. You can also enjoy a relaxing time with refreshments just getting to know other parents and meeting faculty. Of equal importance, and since there is rarely an occasion when all of us are together in one place at the same time, this event provides an opportunity for me and the dance faculty to announce detailed information about our Spring performances and Summer programs.
This year, we have arranged the schedule so that we can meet separately with parents in the Young Children’s Program, the Professional Training Program, and the Open Program. For those who have multiple events to attend on that day, please note the following timeframes for the different classes and meeting schedules:
| 10:30-12:30 | Young Children’s Program |
| 11:00-2:00 | Professional Training Program Levels 1-3 |
| 1:30-3:00 | Open Program |
| 10:30-3:00 | Professional Training Program Levels 4-6 (Students in these levels will perform for each parent/student meeting) |
Please regard our Winter Holiday Open House as the special day to receive a full orientation about our dance program and to know what to anticipate for our season-end student performances so that you can plan ahead. If you have any questions about the schedule for December 15th, please do not hesitate to talk with your child’s instructor or call the Dance Office at (410) 659-8100 ext. 1125, or e-mail dance@peabody.jhu.edu.
On behalf of the Peabody Dance faculty, I thank you in advance for giving this letter your kind attention. We realize what busy lives you lead, but we are counting on you to support our students’ wonderful work.
Kind regards,
Carol Bartlett
