Federal Pell Grant (PELL)

These are direct grants from the federal government to undergraduate students pursuing their first degree that can range from $400 to $4,310 per year.  Award amounts are based on family income, and students must submit the FAFSA in order to qualify.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

The Federal SEOG program provides funds to students who demonstrate exceptional need.  Peabody matches the federal funds with additional grant.  When awarding FSEOG, the Financial Aid Office gives priority to Federal Pell grant recipients and other students with exceptional need.  FSEOG awards range from $400 to $3,000 and are subject to the availability of funds.

Federal Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)

These are direct grants from the federal government for Pell grant eligible students (see above), who are U.S. citizens and whose high school education program is considered rigorous by the U.S. Department of Education.  Freshmen will receive $750, Sophomores will receive $1,300.  Students must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.
