Fall 2006 Issue

Welcome to the premier issue of the Peabody Magazine! With this new twice yearly publication, we aim to bring you stories of the fascinating people and dynamic programs that make the Peabody Institute synonymous with world-class music excellence.

The new magazine marks an evolution, of sorts, from our long-time tabloid newspaper, the Peabody News. Fans of that fine publication and its great regional arts coverage will be please to find our "Arts Alive" section in the middle of the magazine.  Designed to be pulled out and saved, "Arts Alive" offers a varied calendar of music, dance, and theatre events you won't want to miss in the months ahead.

The debut of Peabody Magazine, which coincides with the arrival of new Director Jeffrey Sharkey and the launch of the Institute's 18-month-long sesquicentennial celebration, comes at an auspicious time in the life of Peabody. Within the conservatory's classrooms, practice rooms, and concert halls, there's a palpable excitement—a sense of anticipation that there are great things ahead for the Peabody Institute.

Don't want to miss them? The Peabody Magazine is your best seat in the house.
