As of January 01, 2009, the Business Office will no longer accept personal checks through the mail for transcript requests.  A money order, or certified cashier’s check must be enclosed with all mail in transcript requests. 

The Business Office will continue to receive personal checks, credit card, or cash payments on transcript request that come through their cashiers window, as well as credit card payments on faxed in transcript requests.

This will go in effect on January 01, 2009. Any transcripts received through the mail with a personal check after that date, will be returned.

Students should write us a letter that includes:

  1. Name (maiden name if applicable)

     
  2. Social Security Number

     
  3. Dates of attendance/graduation

     
  4. Program of enrollment

     
  5. Mailing addresses for transcripts

     
  6. Current contact phone number or email address

     
  7. A  money order or certified cashier’s check made payable to Peabody Institute for $5.00 per copy

     
  8. **LEGAL SIGNATURE**  - requests without the signature of the student will not be processed, in accordance with national law.

Transcripts are mailed first-class through the U.S. Postal Service.

If a student is in a hurry to get his/her transcripts, the procedure is:

  1. Fax a letter to the Business Office [(410) 539-1626] with all the elements stated above.

     
  2. Call in payment by credit card to the Business Office  [410-234-4544] within 24 hours of the faxed request. (The Business Office suggests that you call in your credit card number over a secure line, since fax lines are not secure.) All unpaid transcript requests are destroyed after 24 hours. The available hours to fax and call in payment information for transcript requests is 9:00AM – 1:00PM EST Monday through Friday.

Requests made over the phone or e-mail will not be taken.  A request without the student's signature will not be honored, due to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.  No exceptions will be made.  Similarly, requests without payment will not be honored.

Please plan ahead to allow time for processing and mailing of your transcript.  If you graduated before 1980, please also allow time for retrieval of your records from our archives.
