Ernest Liotti
Repertoire Studies
Ernest Liotti is a graduate of the
Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University where he was a piano
student of Lillian Freundlich. He studied choral
conducting with Alan Harlen, Jan Harrington, and with Kenneth Kiesler
at the Aspen Institute. Mr. Liotti is the director of choral
activities and an instructor of music history at Loyola College in
Baltimore. He is also a member of the school’s film minor’s faculty.
He is the founder/director of the DaCamera Singers, a 16-voice
professional chamber chorus, currently ensemble in residence at Loyola
College. Mr. Liotti has adjudicated various choral festivals in
Maryland, commissioned and premiered numerous compositions by regional
composers, has organized and conducted concerts to benefit local
non-profit organizations, and has served as Music Project evaluator for
the United States Department of Education. In addition to his regular
teaching schedule Mr. Liotti pursues a career as a freelance lecturer
and has spoken for such organizations as Johns Hopkins University,
Brandeis University, Friends of Tanglewood in Lenox, Mass. and various
continuing education programs.
