Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply for financial aid and/or scholarship?

Peabody Scholarships are awarded based on the merit, talent, financial need of the student and needs of the school for a balanced ensemble.  All students are considered for Peabody Scholarship when they apply for admission; however, only students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the International Student Financial Aid and Scholarship Application by February 1st will be considered for amounts higher than $10,000.  If awarded a Peabody Scholarship, you will be notified in writing of the amount along with your acceptance letter.  The amount of Peabody Scholarship remains the same throughout a student's program, provided the student maintains satisfactory academic progress.  Peabody Scholarships will not increase in subsequent years in the same program and students cannot re-audition in the same program for a new scholarship or to increase current scholarship.  Completing a satisfactory jury is a personal benefit to the student and will not result in a Peabody Scholarship award or increase

How do I stay up to date regarding the status of my Financial Aid application?

You can check the progress of your Financial Aid application in the Integrated Student Information System (ISIS). Using your JHED ID and password, you can check on outstanding requirements, accept or decline financial aid offers, and view your student account balance. It is recommended that you sign-in to ISIS regularly to ensure that the Financial Aid process is running smoothly.

How do I request additional financial aid?

To appeal for additional financial aid, you must submit all of the materials listed below ( if you have not already done so).

  1. Apply for financial aid using the FAFSA.  International students cannot file the FAFSA, and must submit the Peabody International Student Aid Application. The FAFSA may be filed online at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov using Peabody’s school code E00233, and the International Student Aid Application.
  2. Submit a written appeal (e-mail is fine), including an explanation of your circumstances and the amount of additional or new assistance that you need. It may also be beneficial to have a faculty member contact the Financial Aid Office in writing on your behalf.
