2010 Excellence in Teaching Award

In 2006 the Preparatory established an annual Excellence in Teaching Award to recognize the contributions of outstanding faculty. Nominations for this year’s recipient are now open. The award will be presented during the Preparatory Awards Ceremony on June 6, 2010.

Every current Preparatory student/parent, faculty and staff member is welcome to participate in the nomination process by following these guidelines:

  1. Please submit your nominations to me in writing.  Provide examples and comment on your nominee's outstanding contributions to the Peabody Preparatory.

  2. Please give clear evidence of your nominee’s effectiveness as a teacher by describing her or his:

    1. results and consistency of contributions;
    2. flexibility and responsiveness to student needs;
    3. student-centered approach to learning;
    4. artistry; and/or
    5. creative use of materials or techniques.

    Any additional information you see as relevant is also welcome.

  3. Your nominee is required to have been a full- or part-time member of the Preparatory faculty for at least the past 3 years.

Peabody’s Director Jeffrey Sharkey and the Preparatory’s Coordinator of Student Services, Gavin Farrell will join me on the selection committee to review the nominations and make the final selection. The deadline for nominations is Friday, April 30, 2010.

Thank you very much.
