The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University

I studied with Fernando Laires from 1986 until he left Peabody in 1989 (I believe). Mr. Laires didn’t just teach the piano. He had a much wider perspective that he shared with his students – about how to be a better person, as well as a better musician and a better pianist. I still treasure these lessons in life he provided and recall him with great affection and respect for his wisdom.
