Celebrating a Master
The Leon Fleisher Scholars at the Peabody Conservatory

Leon Fleisher: teacher, mentor, performer, conductor. For 50 years as a Peabody Conservatory faculty member, Leon Fleisher, who holds the Andrew W. Mellon Chair in Piano, has been all this and more to countless students and colleagues, audience members and friends. To hear him make music is a gift.

To recognize the gift that Leon Fleisher has given to so many over these 50 years, the Peabody Institute will establish the Leon Fleisher Scholars Fund at the Peabody Conservatory. The endowed Leon Fleisher Scholars Fund will provide scholarship support for undergraduate piano majors for generations to come—continuing the legacy of this gifted master who has influenced generations of musicians.

For information about making a contribution to the Leon Fleisher Scholars Fund, please contact the Peabody Development Office at 410-234-4670, or click 'Make a Gift' below.

“In the end, his diverse legacy may well prove more pervasive and lasting than if he had simply continued his career as a pre-eminent two-handed pianist.”
—Anthony Tommasini in The New York Times
