Student Conduct Code

Procedures for alleged violations of the Student Conduct Code apply to acts of non-academic misconduct committed both on and off the Peabody campus. It is enforceable throughout the entire matriculation period, regardless of whether classes are in session or the student is enrolled in classes.

Students are advised that an act of misconduct may constitute both a criminal offense as well as a violation of this code. The Conservatory’s policy is to cooperate fully with law enforcement authorities. Disciplinary proceedings by the Conservatory are independent of any criminal proceedings arising out of the same incident and normally will not be held in abeyance pending the resolution of criminal charges. The Conservatory reserves the right to institute disciplinary action whether or not the offense results or may result in action by a civil or criminal court.

Responsibilities of Students, Faculty, and Staff

All members of the Conservatory community are responsible for preserving an environment conducive to the safe pursuit of the Conservatory’s programs. A student is obligated to refrain from acts which he or she knows, or under the circumstances has reason to know, cause harm or threaten the well-being and property of others.
