Chamber Music America Conference

C Street Brass, a quintet founded by Conservatory students in 2007 and mentored by faculty artist Joe Burgstaller, was one of a select group of ensembles showcased at Chamber Music America's 34th Annual Conference, held January 12-15 in New York City. C Street Brass performed a 20-minute show at the conference, at which Preparatory alumnus Aaron P. Dworkin, recently appointed to the National Council on the Arts by President Obama, was the keynote speaker.

Trombone Quartet Perform at Monument Lighting

A quartet of trombonists from Peabody performed at the Washington Monument Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 1. The ceremony was broadcast on Baltimore's WBAL TV.

Alum to be executive director of Mountain Top Music School

George Wiese (BM ’09, Trombone), who studied with David Fetter at Peabody, is the new executive director of the Mountain Top Music School in Conway, N.H.

Aaron Brant (GPD '04, Horn)

Aaron Brant (GPD ’04, Horn) has been appointed to the principal horn position of the Dayton Philharmonic permanently, after serving as acting principal horn in the 2010-2011 season.

Gregory Campbell (BM '05) joins Miami Symphony

Gregory Campbell (BM ’05, Trombone) has been appointed associate principal trombone of the Miami Symphony Orchestra. Campbell is the former principal trombone with La Orquesta Sinfonica UANL in Monterrey, Mexico.
