The Hopkins Connection

Close Up Photo of Gilman Tower at the JHU Homewood CampusSince 1977, the Institute has operated as a division of The Johns Hopkins University which U.S. News & World Report cites as one of America’s top ten universities. Because of this affiliation, Peabody students are exposed to a liberal arts curriculum that is more expansive than those of other leading conservatories; likewise, Hopkins students have access to a world-class musical education and experience that they could not access at another university of such stature.

As a school of The Johns Hopkins University, Peabody students are JHU students, and have access to most of the opportunities and activities available to students on the Homewood Campus. A Peabody degree is simultaneously a Johns Hopkins University degree, and carries with it the same assumption of excellence as any other JHU degree--plus the musical credentials of a Peabody Conservatory degree.
