March 18th, 2008Students take part in Baltimore's Festival of Maps
The SONAR new music ensemble, in collaboration with the Walters Art Museum, presents a program of contemporary music accompanied by projected images from the Hubble Space Telescope in conjunction with the museum's Mapping the Cosmos exhibit.
The program will include the music of Sebastian Currier, John Cage, Peter Klatzow, Luciano Berio, John Adams, and will also include a segment titled The Planets which will feature short works of faculty and student composers from the Peabody Conservatory. The SONAR new music ensemble is a Baltimore-based ensemble made of a group of students from the Peabody Conservatory.

Isabella Mensz and Lydia Bunn
Isabella Mensz and Lydia Bunn have both been awarded a string fellowship to study at the Aspen Music Festival and School. The fellowship covers tuition and room and board for two summers.

Yi-Ju Chen
Yi-Ju Chen, who studied with Victoria Chiang, MM student in 2003 and GPD student in 2004, has just completed her third season as a member of the viola section of the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra.
