Faculty Focus

Catrin Rowenna Davies

I particularly enjoy sharing my love of operetta because the genre is often overlooked when discussing classical music. The fact that I have performed in numerous operettas throughout my career gives me insight into all facets of their challenging productions. I'm eager to discuss these in my class this spring (Opera to Operetta, Famous and Rare, April 29-May 4).

I love working with Road Scholar at Peabody participants. It's a pleasure to teach students who are clearly delighted to be in class. The attention is rapt, the questions are thoughtful, and the discussions are lively. We'll definitely have fun. And come prepared to listen to or sing along with some popular operetta masterpieces!
