Sarah Hayashi Wins MD Distinguished Scholar Award
Preparatory voice student Sarah Hayashi, who studies in the studio of Preparatory Voice department chair Elysabeth Catbas, was selected as a winner of the MD Distinguished Scholar Award for Voice. She was one of only three singers chosen for this award. This honor affords Sarah the opportunity to receive a scholarship when she attends a Maryland university upon graduation from high school this coming year.
Sarah has also been invited to perform in a concert showcasing the organization's top talent. In addition, she will perform with fellow Preparatory voice student of Elysabeth Catbas, Annie Sherman in a concert with the Peabody Youth Orchestra in December. With this award and the performance opportunities ahead, Sarah is looking forward to an exciting senior year!
