Junior Concerto and String Ensemble Competition Winners Announced

Congratulations to violinist Karyne Beverly the winner of the 2008-2009 Junior Concerto Competition and to Grace Carney winner of the String Ensemble Competition. Patricia Bai was named runner-up in the String Ensemble Competition.

Karyne, a student of Matthew Horwitz-Lee will perform the first movement of J.S. Bach's Violin Concerto in A minor with the Young Artists Orchestra under the direction of  Daniel Levitov.

Grace, a student of Janet Melnicoff-Brown will perform the allegro from Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto in A minor with the Preparatory String Ensemble under the direction of Matthew Horwitz-Lee.

The concert featuring both students is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9 at 3:00 p.m. in Griswold Hall.
