Advanced Performance Class (APC)

APC is series of eight performance workshops and master classes for talented and serious string students that are designed to develop performance skills at the highest levels, explore enrichment topics, and expose our students to top artists.
Classes are taught by Ms. Henry and guests from the Preparatory and Conservatory faculties, as well as guest artists from the music world at large.
The 2005-06 season will include a Violin Masterclass with concert violinist Pamela Frank, a session on Mock College Auditions with Peabody Conservatory String Coordinator Herbert Greenberg, a class on playing in a professional string section with BSO Asst. Principal 2nd violinist Ivan Stefanovic, and a class on collaboration with Ms. Akye Agus, who was Jascha Heifet'z pianist for many years.
The APC is designed to be performance oriented and all students will perform regularly, Classes meet Saturdays 2:45-4:15.
Requirements for entry: Dedication to practicing a minimum of 1.5 hours per day, performance at or near the Preparatory Certificate Program Advance levels, and recommendation by faculty. Open to students enrolled in individual instruction in the Preparatory only.
