José Cueto

Jose CuetoViolinist José Cueto is admired both by the public and critics for his "solid technique and rich beautiful tone." Born in Puerto Rico, he is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music where he received both his B.M. and M.M. degrees in violin performance. In great demand as a soloist and chamber musician, José has performed in Europe, Puerto Rico, Argentina and the USA. He is concertmaster of the Baltimore Opera Orchestra and Concert Artists of Baltimore. José has performed with the Kennedy Center Chamber Players, the Tidewater Chamber Players, at the Casals Festival and the La Gesse Festival in France. José recently recorded "Music from the New World" with trio Americas. He has also recorded for Crystal and Educo Records. José is Resident Artist at St. Mary's College and a faculty member at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Some of his courses are: Brahms String Chamber Music, Beethoven Quartets, Romantic Chamber Music, Romantic Symphonies and Mozart's Chamber Music.
