Douglas Heist

Douglas HeistDouglas earned both his M.M. and D.M.A. in piano from Peabody Conservatory. His B.M. in piano is from Wheaton College, Ill. He has taught for Road Scholar at Peabody since the beginning. Some of Douglas' current courses include Beethoven piano sonatas and concertos, Berlioz, Brahms' concertos and symphonies, Sibelius, Shostakovich, Tchaikovsky, and Mahler symphonies.

Douglas teaches piano in the Peabody Preparatory department and also at McDonogh School in Baltimore County. He has performed as soloist and accompanist throughout the Baltimore area. He has appeared several times in the Baltimore Composers' Forum at Goucher College, which features new compositions by local composers. He also currently serves as organist at Catonsville Presbyterian Church.
