Amelia Killian

Amelia KillianPianist, Amelia Killian received her bachelor and master of music degrees from Peabody Conservatory where she studied with Julio Esteban. While at Peabody she was a prize winner in the "Peabody Concours" and the recipient of the Peggy and Yale Gordon Award from the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore. Following graduation, she traveled to Spain to attend "Musica en Compostela" under Rosa Sabater, and later to Switzerland for master classes with Gyorgy Sebok. Since attending the Dorothy Taubman workshop in Amherst, Massachusetts, she has studied with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Zitta Zohar. Ms. Killian has performed as soloist, accompanist and concerto soloist is settings ranging from the children's home in Rehetobel, Switzerland to Carnegie Recital Hall. An avid enthusiast of combining musical and educational experiences, she has taught Road Scholar courses at Peabody since 1991, and organizes educational workshops and theme recitals for the younger set at the Peabody Preparatory, where she is a faculty member and branch coordinator.
