Alumni Fleisher Scholarship Challenge
Would you throw a party for Peabody?
What if Peabody gave you $200?
Johns Hopkins has dedicated money for a new trial project at Peabody. The idea is to involve alumni wherever they live in the world to help raise awareness of Peabody and Johns Hopkins and to raise some money for the newly endowed piano scholarship established in honor of Leon Fleisher.*
If you are willing to host a party, house concert, wine tasting, or other creative activity and you think that you can get at least 15 of your guests to make a donation** to Peabody, send your idea to the Peabody Alumni Office today! PeabodyAlumni@jhu.edu
The Alumni Office will send you $200, some Peabody prizes, and pre-printed envelopes for donations (so people can use credit cards or seal a check or cash inside). Your event will also be listed on the website and in the Peabody Magazine.
Our goal is to raise $7,500 this year, and we will track our progresson the website. Send your ideas to PeabodyAlumni@jhu.edu or Peabody Alumni Office, 1 East Mount Vernon Place, Baltimore,MD 21202 today!
* Please note that although raising money for the Fleisher Scholars fund is the main goal, your guests will have the option of supporting the unrestricted scholarship fund instead, if they would prefer.
** Although gifts of any size are welcome, the program will be most successful if each event aims to raise at least $750.

Sharada Rao (BM ’01, Saxophone) After Peabody, I went to grad school for two years and got a master’s degree in statistics. I have been an actuary at a life insurance company since 2003. I still teach sax lessons every Thursday, and I'm very proud of all of my students. I donate because I know firsthand how much a student benefits from a solid music education regardless of what career path s/he takes. Read more alumni stories >> |
Please help us reach our goal by giving today!
