Residence Halls

The Peabody Institute has two residence hall towers on its campus. Each tower has three floors with approximately 12 double rooms and 4 single rooms. The rooms at the corner of each floor are slightly larger, and are equipped to serve as triple occupancies if needed. The residence hall towers maximum capacity for double room occupancy is 178 when rooms are tripled. Both residence hall towers are air conditioned.

Room Information

Each room has a dresser and mirror, a bed, bookshelves, a bulletin board, a desk and chair (with light over the desk) for each student, in addition to a window shade, and an Ethernet port. All rooms are WiFi accessible. Some single rooms have a bunk bed. Double rooms have two sets of furniture.

  • Single rooms measure approximately 8' 9'' by 12' 4'' (2.63m x 3.7m)
  • Double rooms measure 12' by 17' (3.6m x 5.1m)
  • All rooms have 8' (2.4m) ceilings

Lounge Information

Each Residential Hall has a spacious lounge on every floor. The lounges are equipped with ample seating, coffee tables, a microwave, a refrigerator, and an HDTV for your enjoyment.

Bathroom Facilities

The bathrooms are dormitory style shared baths, with individual toilet and shower stalls for privacy.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping enters the rooms every two days between the hours of 10 am and 12 pm for scheduled towel exchanges and garbage removal. Fresh bed linens are available once a week.

Laundry Facilities

There is a laundry room on the basement level of the west tower of the residence hall. Washing machines and dryers charge $1.25 in quarters per load. Detergent can be purchased in the convenience store across the street.

Check-in/Check-out

At check-in you will receive your room key and an Access Card/Campus ID. With the Access Card/Campus ID you will be able to enter and exit the campus at all entrances and your dorm tower by swiping card at the designated locations. Please return both of these items upon the close of your conference as directed by your conference leader. A charge of $75.00 will be imposed for any missing keys, and $50.00 for missing access cards.
