Accreditation Cycle
Peabody will submit for dual reaccreditation in the 2013-14 school year: the decennial renewal of membership by NASM and, as a division of JHU, the decennial reaccreditation by Middle States. NASM will visit Peabody in October 2013; MSCHE will visit in the spring of 2014. Peabody must produce self-study documents for both accreditations.
To capitalize on the existing structures of shared governance, both self-studies will be prepared by a committee consisting of the Faculty Assembly officers, the co-chairs of the three standing committees, and the directors on the Dean's staff. The members of each standing committee and the Council of Chairs will serve as ex officio members of the self-report steering committee. Thus, rather than adding a separate level of bureaucracy, the writing of the self-studies will form an integral part of committee work over AY 2012-13.
