Interviews

About a month before your visit, you will receive an invitation from us stating the day and time of your interview here at Peabody. Plan on spending a day in Baltimore to take the required Music Theory SACRE test (20 minutes) and ear training (5 minutes) placement exams. You must take these tests during the week of your interview. The placement test results come into play as part of the acceptance/rejection process. Personal Interviews will also be held on these days. For the MA Audio Sciences (Recording and Production concentration), you will be asked to complete an online evaluation that will help us better assess your knowledge of microphone theory and application, signal flow, and digital audio. Self-study texts on Music Theory are listed at the end of this document.
On the day of your interview, plan to arrive early and check in at the reception area.

When will you learn the results?

Information from your audition, along with the rest of your credentials, will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. On April 1 (June 14 for May auditions), we will send you an email containing interview results and access to other information related to your application. Should your folder be incomplete, the decision will be delayed until we have the missing information (e.g. missing transcripts).

NOTE: Documents and recordings submitted cannot be returned.
Please make copies of all documents for your records.
