Alumni Celebration Weekend

We are so excited about this year's homecoming/reunion events, and we hope that you are able to join your fellow alumni for a fun weekend at Peabody! Below is a full list of events.

Peabody's homecoming coincides with Hopkins Alumni Weekend, and all Peabody alumni are invited to register for and attend any of those events, as well. For a full schedule and a link to register, please visit their website

 

 

 

 


THURSDAY, APRIL 20

5:30 – 7:00 pm | Recent Graduate/Graduate Student Happy Hour
Flavor, 15 East Centre Street; $5 per person
Alumni, especially those who have graduated in the last 10 years, and current graduate students are invited to network in a more intimate and casual pre-reunion event. Includes one drink ticket (beer/wine) and hors d’oeuvres.


FRIDAY, APRIL 21

Noon – 8:00 pm | Welcome Table: Registration and Information
Bottom of the Arcade steps, 17 East Mount Vernon Place
Alumni should sign in here when they arrive on campus. This is also the place for up-to-date information on open classes, open rehearsals, questions, and information throughout the weekend.

3:30 – 5:00 pm | Integrated Arts Recital and Post-Concert Meet & Greet
Centre Street Performance Space, 5 East Centre Street; FREE
Carol Cannon (BM ’67, Voice), Allison Tsai (MM2, Piano), and Visual Artist Andy Tanner

5:30 – 7:30 pm | Reunion Dinner
Mount Vernon Club, 8 West Mount Vernon Place; $25 per person
All alumni are encouraged to attend the dinner and participate in making tributes to faculty members Phyllis Bryn-Julson (voice) and Donald Sutherland (organ) who will be jointly presented the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Heritage Award at the concert immediately following the dinner.

Noon – 2:30 pm | Reunion Lunch
Engineers Club of Baltimore, 11 West Mount Vernon Place; $30 per person
Dean Bronstein makes welcoming remarks and presents the Peabody Distinguished Alumni Award to James Scott (MM ’66, Flute; MM ’66, Piano; DMA ’73, Flute) and the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Heritage Award to Carol Cannon (BM ’67, Voice); members of reunion classes (all years ending in 6, 7, 1, or 2) have the opportunity to share a memory at the podium.

3:00 pm | Flute Master Class with James Scott (MM ’66, Flute; MM ’66, Piano; DMA ’73, Flute)

4:00 pm | Wine & Cheese Pre-Concert Reception

7:30 pm | Peabody Society of Black Alumni Dinner
Centre Street Conference Room, 9 East Centre Street; $20 per person
Join us for a casual dinner and conversation exclusively for Peabody’s black alumni and students.

SUNDAY, APRIL 23

12:30 – 3:00 pm | Reunion Brunch
George Peabody Library; $25 per person
Presentation of the Peabody Alumni Achievement Award Recognizing Outstanding Contributions to Music in Maryland to Ron Gretz (BM ’66, Voice; MM ’68, Choral Conducting) and Jason Love (BM ’92, Cello; MM ’94, Conducting); special guests will include past winners of this award.
