Under the general direction of the Associate Dean this position will be responsible for the instruction of students in the discipline of Music.
Required Qualifications: • Master of Arts in Music; • 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a higher education institution
Job type and hours: Contractual: position to start January 2013
Essential Functions:
• Develop and teach college level credit courses including Fundamentals of Music and Music Appreciation
• Assist in curriculum development
• Engage in Departmental assessment and evaluation of courses and programs
• Grade and return student assignments and tests in a reasonable period of time
• Prepare complete course outlines and syllabi
• Continually revise and update course content and materials of instruction
• Coordinate course contents and methods with other teachers in the program/discipline
• Initiate and carry through with improvements to course contents and methods
• Keep regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students)
