Mercy College is inviting applications for a full-time, multiple-year contract track, faculty position in Music Production & Recording Arts to teach in an undergraduate commercial music production and recording arts program with over 100 majors in the School of Liberal Arts.
The candidate should have advanced skills in production, engineering and electronic music, and be qualified to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses related to Music Production & Recording Arts.
Minimum Requirements:
• Masters Degree from an accredited institution.
• Expertise with current Music & Audio Production software
• Significant professional studio experience
• Demonstrated success in full-time teaching classes at the college level.
• Potential for success in research/creative activity.

University of the Arts
School of Music Production Coordinator

POSITION: School Of Music Production Coordinator (full-time calendar year position)
DESCRIPTION: The SOMPC is responsible for coordinating the scheduling, overseeing all School of Music performances and events, and maintaining the school's primary performance space. The SOMPC will also function as the School's principal live-sound engineer, and oversee scheduling and hiring of part-time sound engineers, as necessary, for all SOM events. The SOMPC is expected to participate heavily in media endeavors, such as web-based video and audio streaming, and coordinating these activities with staff and the School's undergraduate and graduate programs. Reports to the Director of the School of Music.
RESPONSIBILITIES: School of Music:
• Acts as head sound engineer for live performances and recordings when necessary
• Maintains and schedules performance facilities
• Acts as head audio and video archivist for School of Music
• Coordinates the scheduling of freelance sound engineers and student engineers as needed for performances and rehearsals, with the approval of the Director
• Prepares and submits budget requisitions to the Director for equipment and maintenance, as needed
• Helps maintain, install, and troubleshoot related School of Music performance equipment
• Heads efforts to develop School of Music online streaming capability
• Works closely with Music Tech Supervisor on department policy, equipment spec/repair
• Recommends equipment and software for live performances and online event streaming
• Supervises and trains student workers and interns in the University's MBET program
• Assists with installation of new equipment, hardware and software
• Consults and assists CPA schools with sound and tech needs
• Other duties as assigned by Director or supervisor
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, BM or BS in Music or related preferred; music background and experience; knowledgeable in wide range of music technology, included but not limited to online event streaming and sound reinforcement; experience with digital mixing consoles and recording equipment; experience with Macintosh hardware, OS, and software; computer networking experience; high degree of organizational skills; professional, motivated, takes initiative; is a positive role-model in an educational environment; works well under deadlines and pressure.

Overview: Design and Integration, a top provider of custom A/V solutions in the Mid-Atlantic US, seeks and entry-level A/V engineer. The selected candidate will follow a 1-2 year career track that will include working as an engineer in the sales department. Opportunities for advancement include project engineering, project management, and system programming.
Responsibilities include preparing proposals, system designs, the creation of CAD shop drawings and testing A/V systems as well as:

· Auto CAD Drafting
· Testing of completed systems
